Safety News: Country Club Civic Association Gets New Turning OptionsNY Accident Lawyer
Posted on March 31, 2018
Members of the Country Club Civic Association convinced the Department of Transportation of NYC to change turning options on Country Club Road, as it was posing many dangers. The turning lane options made it so that a vehicle in the right lane always had to turn right, which could sometimes lead to back-ups. DOT changed the traffic and made it so that both lanes can now travel over the overpass with the right lane being offered a turn option.
The organization’s Vice President, Arlene Grauer, says that it was a pet peeve of hers because she knew that it was dangerous and was seeing so many accidents. She said that DOT had conducted the same study before but didn’t make any changes, but only because it was the 4th of July weekend and many people were away at parties, so traffic was light.
With fewer safety issues, everyone believes there will be a success on this roadway.
